Another Little Handmade Rug.....

just like the other one.. well almost! It's made the same way, i've just used some different pieces of recycled fabrics for the stripes and edging. These wee rugs are much nicer off camera than on.. well I think so anyway...

They are great as little bedside rugs, simple to make, and free if you've already got the bits n pieces to make them, or very cheap if you pick up stuff from charity shops.. and they feel lovely and cosy on the toes when first stepping out of bed in the morning!

So cosy, my other half wanted to know where his was : )

here it is.....

construction..

stripes added..

lining tacked on..

and after adding a bottom layer of bright pink towel underneath..
finally edging in place.. ready to be...

all sewn up..

and finished...

There's such a nice satisfied feeling from making something useful from something no longer in use.. an eco rug, a whisper of green and done with pleasure :)

What a fab idea! It looks really effective. Might have to have a go at one of these once the kids are back at school.
